Nagseni is a Tehsil in Kishtwar District of Jammu & Kashmir State, India. Nagseni Tehsil Head Quarters is Nagseni town . It is located 0 KM towards North from District head quarters Kishtwar. 144 KM from State capital Srinagar, Jammu towards west .

Nagseni Tehsil is bounded by by Gundana Tehsil towards west , Drabshalla Tehsil towards South , Thathri Tehsil towards South , Dachhan Tehsil towards North . Udhampur City , Anantnag City , Chamba City , Dalhousie City are the nearby Cities to Nagseni. Qomiye Nag, Dool Dam etc are the near by Important tourist destinations to see.

Weather and Climate of Nagseni Tehsil

It is very cold in summer also. Nagseni summer highest day temperature is in between 6 C to 27 C . Average temperatures of January is -1 C , February is 1 C , March is 6 C , April is 9 C , May is 13 C .

Nagseni, full of scenic beauty, is located on the east of Kishtwar town, which is surrounded by forests. This place has been named after the Budhist Preacher Nagseen. The route from Kajangal (Kunja) passes through Kujagala to village Bhattan, the Vattaniya Ashram of Milindo-Panho. Village Bhattan and its adjoining areas has remained centre of vital religious and cultural activities of Buddhist scholars.

This Pargana consisted of Kwar Tenji, Bhagna, Chandna, Bhattan, Dumzi, Dajla, Chnignana, Galhar, Bhata, Piyas, Bhata Semna, Ajana, Chhichha, Sazar and Cheerji villages.


Nagseni is also famous for some springs. Among these springs, Gumai Nag is considered very scared. Hindu consider these springs sacred and holy and offer some offerings there.
